Free Search Engine Traffic: Everything Costs You Something

If you have been looking for ways to increase traffic to your sites, you have probably heard the expression SEO (Search Engine Optimization) so many times by now that you are starting to get a little sick to the stomach. Getting free search engine traffic is only part of the problem. You can have all of the free search engine traffic in the world. But, if those website visitors are not, specifically, targeted for what you are selling, they are not going to buy. SEO is not just about getting traffic to your site. It's about getting people, who are looking for you WITH credit card in hand, to your site.

Most people use blogs to generate traffic. But, they use them incorrectly. So, if you are NOT SEO savvy, let me share just a few pointers with you.

1. People are not interested in your business. They are interested in you. There are a thousand folks out there who offer what you have or something similar. Make yourself personable. Let them get to know who you are. People buy from other people and NOT from companies!

2. Own your own domain and use a blog that you can manipulate. Wordpress.org is always better than Wordpress.com. You can find all kinds of useful tools to use with .org that you just can't use with the .com sites. Pay the extra money to have a hosting company and get your own domain. You can find those tools on my site and they will cost you little to nothing.

3. If you do not have a method of capturing information from your prospects on your blog, you might well be fishing without any bait on your hook! Wordpress.org has plugins that will help you to create an opt-in form for your page. If you cannot find them. send me an email and I will give you a website to go get them for free.

Why is that opt-in form important? An opt-in email list is an email list created from visitors to your site, who ask to receive regular emails and updates on a particular subject that is close to their hearts is GOLD! An opt-in email list is more valuable than gold. It is a list of targeted visitors to your site, who are prepared to receive regular communications from YOU telling them about new developments at YOUR site, so that they can come back often. You can, also, tell them about products and services related to their interests.

Are you going to go to my site? Probably.

I have more information that you need there and I am giving it away. But, it'll cost you something. It will cost you a way for me to stay in touch with you. What if you don't give me the correct contact information? You can't have the tools you need to begin to succeed from me. You may find them somewhere else.

That's fine! And you will give THAT person the same information that I am asking you for.
